Christmas Wonderland Now Open
From October we have a spectacular Christmas department with decorations for the tree, all around the home and some great gift ideas, with exciting new themes for 2026!
This year’s journey through our Winter Wonderland…..
“Traditional Treasures” has ornate baubles, sparkling gems and flowers in red, gold, green with a touch of dark blue along with lots of bows which are very fashionable this festive season. Robins, snow globes and nativity can also be found in this section along with advent candles and the beautiful pop-and-slot advent calendars.
“Gleeful Nostalgia” is an eclectic mix which shows anything goes at Christmas! We have fun ceramic food ornaments with faces and Christmas hats, decorations to cover hobbies and interests and dinosaurs as well as cute, felted folk! There’s a touch of vintage too with tinsel, foil decorations, garlands and baubles and droplets. Thaxters’ famous animated Father Christmas sits reading his book in this fun section amongst the many animated characters.
“Whimsical Woodland” has delightful, felted creatures nestling amongst the lit branches and mossy tree trunks. You’ll find deer, hedgehogs, squirrels and an abundance of mice getting up to all sorts of antics! Woodland flowers, bright berries, holly and ivy, acorns and lots of mushrooms finish off the display.
“Frozen Fantasy” gives a cold, icy feel with beautiful lit trees, white, crystal and glass decorations including swan, angels and stunning droplets.
“Operatic Floribunda” is a spectacular, theatrical display in rich, opulent burgundy, dusky pink and antique gold. Choose from beautiful baubles, ballerinas and birds, velvet flowers and fruits.
We have new designs and colours in our ever-popular LED lit baubles including ones with a motor which will rotate!
Following last year’s introduction of a bigger display of lit and musical villages and animated scenes, we have added new designs to give you lots of ideas for creating your own scenes at home using snow and smaller decorations. You will find a great selection of indoor and outdoor lights, lit characters, glitter spinners, lanterns, infinity mirrors, candle arches and more lit stained-glass decorations as well as artificial trees.
For those that like to make their own decorations, arrangements and displays there are plenty of garlands, wreaths, silk flowers and picks. Decorated garlands, wreathes and table centres are also available and tableware, candle holders and candles to add that finishing touch.
Through the canopy we have a selection of lit reindeer, trees, obelisks and blinking characters all suitable for display outside and many different lights, lit stars and snowflakes suitable for the outside of the house. There are decorative metal stakes and ornaments for the garden too.
You will find wonderful gifts ideas – cushions and throws, ornaments, books, jigsaw puzzles, stationery including Wrendale and a wonderful new range of candles and other home décor and fragrance from Candlelight. We have some gorgeous scarves, gloves, hats and socks to keep you warm this winter.
Our ever-increasing gift food range includes decorative tins of biscuits, cakes, preserves and chutneys and lots of other treats including a new range of delicious chocolates! We have gardening gifts and décor, tools, bird food and feeders and lots of great stocking fillers too. Plus, dog treats, toys and beds for your furry friends!
Thaxters Winter Wonderland, provides an enjoyable, local shopping experience for all your decoration and gift requirements, in a relaxing environment, and free parking too! Real Christmas trees and wreaths, seasonal houseplants and planted arrangements arrive late November.
And outdoors we will be having our full-size singing reindeer too!
We are a popular family run garden centre that has been established for over 50 years. We are small enough to care but big enough to stock everything you will need for the garden.
We have a large plant area and still believe that plants should be at the heart of the garden. We source most of our plants from local growers who share our same values of good quality, healthy plants at competitive prices.
As well as plants we stock everything you would expect to find in the garden centre and have a wide range of other departments to peruse and ever increasing gift and garden gift department.
Dogs are welcome in our Garden Centre and we have a special indoor seating area for dogs and their owners in our Coffee Shop garden. *The Coffee Shop is counter ordering.
